Dear Deaf Pastors and Leaders

Written by: Brandon Gaskin   |   Mar 25, 2022

Easter is quickly approaching, and there’s never been a better time to invite people into the church than this Easter. The average church starts preparing for their Easter Sunday six weeks in advance. This year, we can impact our Deaf communities like never before, but we need to prepare now.  In the Deaf community, we have an inside joke – everything  waits until the last minute!

Deaf pastors and leaders I plead with you not to wait till the last minute. Start today. Gather your teams, cast your vision, and delegate the work. Start inviting the community.  Invite the single mom who has been looking for a church home for her children to grow; Invite the Deaf family who just moved to the area; Invite the guy who turned away from the church because of some sort of hypocrisy. Invite them all! Don’t wait til the last minute. When we wait till the last minute, it only hurts the church and the body.

When you cast your vision, cast it clearly. Reinstate it several times so your teams understand the vision and goal. Then, communicate how to work together and best achieve success.

Most of all, seek the Holy Spirit. Seek and ask that He give you the best message that you could ever prepare for. Don’t copy and paste another sermon. But preach the Gospel message as if it was your last. And, then, invite your guests to come back and be on the same journey that you and the church are on.

This year, we have the potential to see a Deaf revival spread like wildfire. Let’s be the generation that continues to make God known amongst the Deaf communities in the world.

“After that generation died, another generation grew up who did not acknowledge the LORD or remember the mighty things he had done for Israel.” – Judges 2:10 NLT
