New Year, New You!

New Year, New You!

According to the Bible, New Year, New You is a real thing!

We are starting a new year, but can you really become a new you?  Are those just trendy empty words people like to say?

1. New Faith, New You

“Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.  The old life is gone; a new life has begun!” – 2 Corinthians 5:17.

If you have never given your life to Christ before, know that He has known you and loved you before you were born. He has been waiting for you to notice Him so that He can walk beside you as your comforter, guide, and helper. Starting a new life can be your first gift of the new year from God who loves you.  “All of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ.” – 2 Corinthians 5:18.

When you tell Jesus that you are sorry and need Him to forgive you, all of your past sins will be wiped away. You will be as pure as a beautiful January snow. “And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins” – Hebrews 8:12.

2. New Day, New You

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness”  – Lamentations 3:22-23.

For Christians, we don’t have to wait until January to start over.  We are given a new start every single day. Every morning as the sun rises, God offers us new strength, beauty, forgiveness, blessings and kindness for the new day.

3. Something New, New Hope

“For I am about to do something new.  See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness.  I will create rivers in the dry wasteland” – Isaiah 43:19.

If your life has been feeling like a hard wilderness and an empty desert, God will never leave you or abandon you. Let us open our spiritual eyes with hope and look around to watch with joy what new things He will do to help us through our daily struggles in the new year.
